    • Directed procurements, budget, technical issues for foreign Navy program.

  • American Systems Engineering Corporation (1986-1987) — Arlington, VA
    Program Manager
    • Managed the NAVSEA PMS 313BT, formerly SEA 913BT, Production and Technical Services contract in support of the reactivation modernization, and fleet introduction of the BB-61 IOWA Class Battleships
    • Supervised engineers and analysts in the performance of this contract. Gave technical and managerial direction.
  • Scientific Management Associates, Inc. (1984-1985) — Landover, MD
    Senior Systems Analyst
    • Provided Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case program management support on-site at the Headquarters, Naval Sea Systems Command. Facilitated the vital interface between the company and the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) DDG Modernization and Follow-on Technical Support Programs managed by PMS313G.
    • Tracked and maintained the status of Project Office directed procurements of material, equipment, technical publications, software, and training that was designated by the Project Office for intensified management.
Maintenance and Operations Management
  • Saudi Naval Expansion Program - Fleet Introduction Team (1982-1984) — Norfolk, VA
    Maintenance Liaison Officer
    • Served as primary US Navy liaison during transatlantic and Mediterranean Sea crossings of Royal Saudi Naval Forces gas turbine propelled small naval combatant ships. Directed all repairs and logistic support on-site throughout the voyages. Directed the on-site in foreign countries efforts of Navy, contractor, and American diplomatic support.
  • Container Corporation of America (1980—1982) — Houston, TX
    Plant Engineer
    • Managed corrective and preventive maintenance of corrugated boxboard production plant facilities and complex machinery.
    • Supervised, coordinated, and planned machinery upgrades and new equipment installations in a union environment.
  • Procter & Gamble Paper Products Co. (1979 -1980) — Albany, GA
    Maintenance Team Manager
    • Supervised and directed all preventive and corrective maintenance of modern high-speed tissue paper machine. Managed major equipment upgrades.
  • USS BAGLEY (FF-1069) (1977 -1979) — Homeports: San Diego & Long Beach, CA
    Engineer Officer
    • Responsible for operation (including Casualty Control) and maintenance of FF-1052 Ship Class 1200 psig steam propulsion plant and auxiliary equipment. Systems included HVAC, potable water, ship's steam and diesel electrical generation and distribution, HP and LP air, boat engines, interior communications and public address, plumbing and piping, fresh water distillation, hull and water-tight integrity, installed and portable fire-fighting.
    • Provided Damage Control advice to Commanding Officer and directed all Damage Control operations as Damage Control Officer. Directed the combined endeavors of 4 naval officers and over eighty enlisted personnel. Provided technical and managerial direction. In charge of performance results, personnel appraisals, counseling and discipline.
    • Operated and maintained plant through WESTPAC deployment, preparations for overhaul, and a yearlong "Baseline" overhaul at Long Beach Naval Shipyard.
    • Stood watch as a qualified Officer of the Deck (Fleet Operations) and 1200 psig Engineering Officer of the Watch.
  • USS CAPODANNO (FF-1093) (1975 -1977) — Homeport: Mayport, FL
    Engineer Officer
    • Responsible for operation (including Casualty Control) and maintenance of FF-1078 Ship Class 1200 psig steam propulsion plant and auxiliary equipment. Systems included HVAC, potable water, ship's steam and diesel electrical generation and distribution, HP and LP air, boat engines, interior communications and public address, plumbing and piping, fresh water distillation, hull and water-tight integrity, installed and portable fire-fighting.
    • Provided Damage Control advice to Commanding Officer and directed all Damage Control operations as Damage Control Officer.
    • Steamed plant through Mediterranean and Indian Ocean (MIDEAST) deployments, a major restricted repair availability, and preparations for a yearlong "Baseline" overhaul.
    • Directed the combined endeavors of four commissioned naval officers and over 80 enlisted technicians. Provided technical and managerial direction. In charge of performance results, personnel appraisals, counseling and discipline.
  • USS STRIBLING (DD-867) (1975 -1977) — Homeport: Mayport, FL
    Main Propulsion Assistant (Assistant Engineer - Main Engines)
    • As principal assistant to the Engineer Officer, responsible for the operation and maintenance of DD-692/710 Ship Class 600 psig steam propulsion plant (four boilers and two steam turbine main engines) and auxiliary equipment, supervised overhaul of the plant at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, and operated the plant on two Mediterranean deployments.
